Module Four addresses the emotional challenges of parenting a traumatized child. You will be able to identify common issues parents face related to grief, marriage or partnership, and extended family. You will discover why traumatic events in your own past may be impacting your reactions to your child. You will gain strategies for healthy self-care and learn how to replace your own “negative thought dominoes” with new, more positive ones.
This is part of a 5 Part Module class that will help you decrease your own emotional reactivity and find responses that will help heal and calm your child’s “trauma brain,” change your child’s negative beliefs about himself, others, and the world, and help your child develop a more trusting relationship with you.
